Web Apps, Portals & Apps

'It should just work' is not a specification. We translate your wishes and your users' needs into user stories with clear acceptance criteria. So everyone knows what is being built, why, and when it is done.

Who, what and why

A user story describes a feature from the user's perspective: 'As a customer I want to download my invoices, so I can finish my bookkeeping quickly.' That sounds simple, but it forces the right questions. Who is this for? What is the goal? And what happens when it goes wrong? In workshops with you and your team we map the user journey and the related stories, for example with a story map.

A backlog that adds up

Every story gets acceptance criteria, a sketch or link to the design where needed, and a priority. We also include non-functional requirements, such as security, speed, accessibility and privacy. The result is an ordered backlog in Jira, ClickUp or Notion that developers can estimate, plan and build from. Whether that is our team or someone else's.

Why it works

Why it works.

Clarity

Everyone knows what is being built.

02

Better estimates

Clear stories make planning and budgets more reliable.

03

All questions about Apps & portals
What is the difference between user stories and a functional specification?

A functional specification often describes the entire system in one large document. User stories break it into small, buildable pieces from the user's perspective. That suits agile working better: each sprint you choose what delivers the most.

What are acceptance criteria?

The conditions a story must meet to be 'done'. For example: 'the invoice can be downloaded as a PDF' and 'you only see your own invoices'. They prevent discussion afterwards and form the basis for testing.

Can you write stories for another development team?

Yes. We write the backlog so any team can get started with it, and can explain it in a handover session if you like. We can also join your own team or vendor as product owner.
